Brian Axworthy
I am the Program Director and Chef for District 70's Nutrition Services. I was hired on in June of 2014 to help facilitate our services to our children. I have a child in a Pueblo West middle school and have had one recently graduate from Pueblo West High.
My foodservice experience includes working in five-star hotels and resorts, convention centers, private restaurants, and corporate establishments on the East Coast. Locally, I've been the chef at the country club, a hospital, and was also a chef instructor at Pueblo Community College. Just prior to working for District 70, I was the Executive Chef for District 11 in Colorado Springs for four years and was charged with removing all of the processed food while transitioning the district to a completely made-from-scratch program.
We're working hard each year to continually improve and raise the bar for school foodservice in the state. In addition, we also work to include wellness education, promote physical activity in the classrooms, and offer social, mental, and emotional improvement opportunities for students and staff as much as we're able.
